One in five of all people coming to the Bureau have some kind of financial enquiry.
In September 2007 Guernsey CAB began a pilot scheme to develop a Financial Skills Programme to improve community access to information and education on financial issues, particularly for those vulnerable to poverty.
Financial skills training is offered to staff of targeted partner organisations and to various groups in the community.
Local information guides on money management issues are being produced and distributed to specific groups, and articles on personal money management have been published in the media.
The Money Advice Service continues to assist debtors, and extends assistance to anyone requiring one-to-one advice and support on budgeting and other financial skills.
